Inverell Memorial Swimming Pool
The Inverell Swimming Pool is a 50 metre pool with an adjustable boom dividing the upper 25 metre and lower 25 metre sections. This allows for heating of the shallow portion of the pool during the winter months. The lower 25 metre section is enclosed with a timber laminate structure to provide protection from the elements and trap heat while the water is heated during winter. The structure not only provides an enclosure for winter, but also a 99.9% UV free area in summer.
The facility now provides Inverell and the surrounding district with a public pool that may be utilised throughout the entire year. The water temperature is maintained at 28 degrees celsius and the air temperature at approximately 30 degrees celsius during winter.
