LIBRARY SERVICES
Children’s Services
The library has a dedicated children’s area that includes collections which cater for children from birth to the pre-teen years, and for parents/caregivers. Trained staff are available to assist with reading and homework inquiries. Children and parents are welcome participate in the various storytime sessions held in the library and in the popular school holiday activities. Collection Services
The library holds approximately 50 000 items available for public use. The collections include print, audio and audio-visual materials. Customer suggestions are always welcome and will be considered when collection purchases are made.
Computer Services
The library has 10 public computers with Internet access, word processing and spread sheeting software, and printing facilities (black ink only). Library members are entitled to up to 90 minutes of free computer use per day. Computer bookings may be made in person or by telephone.
Data Projector Hire
The library has a data projector which is available for hire (conditions apply). Please ask library staff for more information about this equipment.
Faxing Service
A faxing service (sending and receiving) is available for use by library members and visitors. The fee to send faxes is $3.75 for the first page and $1.10 for the following pages. The fee to receive a fax is 55 cents per page.
Group/School Visits
Group/school visits are very welcome. Please contact library staff if you would like to organise a library visit.
Home Library Service
The library provides a home library service for people who are genuinely housebound and living within Inverell’s town limits. Please ask library staff for more information about this service.
Inter-library Loans Service
Items which are not held by the library may be accessed through the library’s Inter-library Loans Service. A fee of $4.00 is payable per request, plus any fee applied by the supplying Library. Inter-library loans may be created in person, by telephone or via the library catalogue.
Laminating Service
A laminating service (maximum size of A4) is available for use by library visitors. The fee for laminating a card is 55 cents, A4 laminating is $2.20 and A3 laminating is $3.30.
Loans
All library members are entitled to borrow library items for free as part of their library membership. Please refer to the Borrowing page for further details.
Local Studies Services
The library has a dedicated Local Studies Room and collection. Specialised assistance is available upon request. Appointments may be required for more complex inquiries.
Meeting Room Hire
The library has a meeting room available for hire by the public (conditions apply). Please ask library staff for more information about this facility.
Microfilm Printing
A microfilm reader/printer is available for use by library visitors. Library staff will explain how to use the reader/printer if required. Bookings may be required.
Photocopying
A self service photocopier (black and white only) is available for use by library visitors. Library staff will explain how to use the photocopier if required. Photocopies are 30 cents per page for A4 copies and 60 cents per page for A3 copies.
Reader Services
The library has a dedicated Readers Advice Corner with resources and trained staff to assist with recreational reading inquiries. The library also supports book clubs by providing multiple copies of the same title and by providing notes. Please contact library staff if your book club requires some assistance.
Reference Services
Library staff are available to assist with all reference inquiries. Library staff are available explain how to use the library catalogue, electronic resources and other library collections and facilities upon request. Appointments may be required for more complex inquiries.
Reservations
Borrowers are able to reserve library materials that are on loan. A fee of 80 cents is charged per reserve and is payable upon receipt of the item. Reserved items will be held for one week. Reserves may be made in person, by telephone or via the library catalogue
