All types and brands of printer cartridges used in printers, photocopiers, multi-function centres and fax machines can be placed in the 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' bin. This includes inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges, toner bottles, fuser and drum units, fax rolls, print heads, waste hoppers / containers collectors & kits.

 
12 million or more mobile phones sit unused in cupboards or drawers in Australia. Do you have any? If you do, why not recycle them and at the same time help raise funds for charities and keep the environment clean. In Australia only, it is estimated that there were 3.5 million new mobile phones sold in the last 12 months. Now with the introduction of the 3G technology and coloured screens, more mobile phones are expected to be sold. Resulting in an increase of old mobile phones and effects on our environment if not disposed of properly. As technology grows Australians are offering a solution and helping clean up the environment by diverting toxic substances contained in mobile phones from entering landfills. Check into the Inverell Shire Library often facilities are provided to despose of your old mobiles for charity events!

 

The Aussie Recycling Program is Australia's first Mobile Phone Recycling program that provides a solution to help clean up the environment while at the same time helping raise much funds for charities. By recycling your spare mobile phone, you are helping preserve the environment by keeping your unused mobile phone out of landfills and recycling it back to be re-use and bring affordable communication to developing countries to people who otherwise would not be able to afford it and by raising funds for a charity of your choice. Have you recently upgraded to a new computer? Unsure what to do with the old one? Why not help the environment and others less forunate by donating your old computer to ComputerBank New England. An organisation that refurbishes computers to give to charities, schools and disadvantaged individuals. Run by volunteers from a range of areas including those engaged professionally in some way with information technology, in business and in community services and additional volunteers throughout the New England area are always welcome.

 
After each donation of computers or preipheral devices are received, they are assessed and inventoried, then "cleaned up" - removing all unauthorised proprietary operating systems, software applications and residential data. Also any repairs and maintenance that need to be done are undertaken.

 
ComputerBank New England has just been credited as a refurbisher for microsoft and as a result all future computers will have Windows 98 and Works 8 installed. Delivery of the completed system to the client is usually direct to the client's premises where installation is completed and basic training provided. Additional services and ongoing support to client is offered through the facilities of the ComputerBank New England Office.

 

Prospective recipents: Requests for assistance can be made at any time. Prospective recipients are required to complete and lodge an application form. Applications are assessed by a reference panel and when approved, contact is made to discuss client needs in more detail, assess capabilities and establish appropriate supply arrangements. (Unsuccessful applicants are also contacted and the matter further discussed.) Approved recipients are required to complete a formal supply and services agreement. This agreement, among other matters, and where appropriate, includes acknowledgement of the formal transfer of ownership; indemnification of ComputerBank New England from loss or damage occasioned by the use of the computer system supplied; and agreed arrangements regarding post-supply support and servicing arrangements.

Donations: In general, Pentium or equivalent computers (and similarly-aged periperals) are preferred however all offers of donation are considered. (Realistically, 486-based equipment and above are more likely to be recyclable than older equipment.)
