Weed Management

Weeds pose a significant threat to the wellbeing of the Australian economy, the community and environmental sustainability. In NSW, Local Government is bound under the Noxious Weeds Act 1993 to ensure, as far as practicable, that occupiers of private land carry out their obligations to control noxious weeds imposed under the Act.

Inverell Shire Council Council is committed to preventing the introduction of new weed species and reducing the negative impact of noxious and other environmental weeds, by conducting a strategic private property inspection program, roadside surveillance and treatment, and building weed awareness through field days and media on local weed issues.
